Pink sunrises over Cassie Cape, salt air, slow mornings, and the long light of a Maritime evening. The Cape House is our family's cottage — we are so glad to share it with yours.

— Heather, your host

The Home

A coastal classic, thoughtfully reimagined.

Set on a generous double lot on the shore of Cassie Cape, The Cape House blends the easy comfort of a Maritime cottage with the polish of a careful, modern restoration. Wide plank floors, vaulted wood ceilings, sheer linen curtains, and walls of windows let the light, the sea breeze, and the morning sunrise do most of the decorating.

Three bedrooms — plus a queen sofa bed in the downstairs sunroom — sleep up to eight across two levels. There's a sun-filled dining room beneath a beamed cathedral ceiling, a cook's kitchen with a butcher-block island, and a screened gazebo and fire pit waiting just outside.

It is, quite simply, a place to gather, exhale, and stay a while.

The Cape House faces east, and the strait puts on a show every morning. Pink summer dawns, gold autumn skies, and snow-bright winter sunrises — all from the front lawn, the sunroom, or your bedroom window.

The upstairs retreat.

The whole second floor is a queen-bedded loft, reached by a sweeping wraparound staircase — open and airy rather than walled-off, but a floor of its own all the same. Mini-split for breezy summer nights, smart TV for slow mornings, en-suite bath with a walk-in shower. Look out the window and the strait is right there — the first thing you see at sunrise. A second queen and a twin room wait downstairs, plus a queen sofa bed in the sunroom.

The Sunroom

A bonus room for the eighth guest.

The downstairs sunroom is a cosy second sitting room by day — armchairs, a fireplace, a TV, and afternoon light filtered through bamboo blinds — and a queen-bedded retreat by night. The new article sofa converts to a generous queen with a four-inch mattress topper, and the storage benches double as nightstands.
